About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Happy old boy (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the developer of Joy Clean (Android package com.happyoldboy.joyclean), handles information when you use the app, visit this website, or contact us.

Joy Clean is an Android cleaning utility. The app includes Google sign-in, Firebase Authentication, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and advertising. Different activities involve different information: granting access to files for cleaning is separate from signing in, app analytics, crash reporting, or advertising.

Information we handle

The Google sign-in process does not share your Google password with Joy Clean. Avoid sending passwords, verification codes, payment details, or unrelated private files when contacting support.

Cleaning and permissions

Joy Clean checks accessible files and storage on your device to help you find unwanted content. Scanning and cleaning take place on your device. We do not upload your photos, videos, other file contents, file names, or file paths as part of cleaning. If you choose to send a screenshot or attachment to support, we handle it as support correspondence instead.

• Files and media: access is limited by Android and the choices you make in a system file picker or a storage or media permission prompt. We request access when it is needed for the cleaning feature you use. You review and confirm a cleanup before files are deleted.
• Network access: used for Google sign-in, Firebase services, and advertising. These services transmit the account, usage, diagnostic, or advertising data described in this policy.
• Advertising identifiers: used where available and permitted for advertising and related measurement. You can manage available advertising controls in Android Settings.

We do not request contacts, SMS, call logs, camera, microphone, or precise location permissions for cleaning. Joy Clean does not use Accessibility services or request unrestricted access to all files or a complete inventory of installed apps for its cleaning features.

You can decline access or revoke permissions in Android Settings; the affected cleaning feature may then be unavailable. Google sign-in does not grant access to your phone’s files, Gmail, or Google Drive.

Review the scope of a cleanup before you continue, and keep a separate backup of content you need. File deletion is different from deleting account information held by us. See Account & Data Deletion for the latter.

Google and Firebase services

Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication

We use Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication to provide account access. Google and Firebase process the identity and authentication information needed for sign-in, together with technical information used for security and abuse prevention. Authentication information is transmitted to these services; signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete the account.

Google Analytics for Firebase

We use app usage information to understand engagement and improve Joy Clean. Analytics processes technical identifiers, events, device information, and IP addresses, including for approximate geographic information. Data handling also depends on the app’s analytics configuration, linked advertising services, and applicable consent settings.

Firebase Crashlytics

We use crash reports to investigate errors and improve reliability. Reports can include technical details about the device, app execution, and the circumstances of a crash.

These services are provided by Google. For additional information, see Firebase Privacy and Security, the Google Privacy Policy, and Google Analytics data safeguards.

Advertising and your choices

Joy Clean contains ads. Advertising service providers process the advertising information described above to display ads, measure delivery and performance, and prevent fraud. Where ads are personalized, this can involve the use of identifiers and activity to select ads relevant to you.

Where analytics or advertising processing requires consent, we ask in the app before that processing begins. You can decline or withdraw consent through the app’s privacy choices, and contact us for help. A device permission is not a substitute for advertising consent. Non-personalized ads can still involve information used for delivery, reporting, security, and fraud prevention.

You can manage available ad privacy controls in Android Settings and adjust Google advertising preferences through My Ad Center. Google’s controls do not control ads supplied by other advertising providers and may not apply to every ad shown in Joy Clean. Available controls depend on your device, region, and service. Restricting personalization does not necessarily remove ads.

How information is shared

Information is disclosed to the parties needed to provide the activities described in this policy:

• Google and Firebase: authentication, usage measurement, crash reporting, and related service operation.
• Advertising service providers: ad delivery, measurement, permitted personalization, and fraud prevention.
• Cloudflare: delivery and protection of this website through Cloudflare Pages. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
• Email and support service providers: handling messages you send to our developer email address.
• Legal or organizational recipients: where necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal request, protect rights or safety, prevent abuse, or complete a business transfer with appropriate safeguards and notice where required.

We do not sell personal and sensitive user data for money. Advertising-related processing may be treated as “sharing” or targeted advertising under some privacy laws, even without a monetary sale. Where applicable, you can contact us to exercise the corresponding rights.

Retention and deletion

We retain information for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of the service you use, whether you maintain an account, the need to respond to requests, security requirements, and applicable legal obligations.

• Account information: retained while your Joy Clean account exists and then removed through the deletion process, subject to necessary legal or security exceptions.
• Analytics information: we use a 2-month retention setting for user-level and event-level data covered by Google Analytics retention controls, without resetting the user-data period when new activity occurs. Google removes expired data in its monthly deletion cycle. This setting does not apply to standard aggregated reports, which can remain available.
• Crash information: Firebase Crashlytics retains crash reports and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from its live and backup systems.
• Support correspondence: retained while a request is open and for up to 12 months after it is resolved, unless a longer period is necessary for a legal obligation or an ongoing dispute. You may request earlier deletion. We keep only the limited records needed for any exception.
• Advertising and website logs: governed by the relevant purpose, service settings, and provider processes, including fraud prevention and security requirements.

Deletion from active systems and backups may follow different timelines. Firebase states that authentication information is removed from its live and backup systems within 180 days after the developer initiates deletion of the associated user. This is a provider processing period, not a requirement to keep an active Joy Clean account for 180 days. Firebase also states that authentication IP logs are retained for a few weeks.

To request deletion of your Joy Clean account and associated personal data, use our Account & Data Deletion page. You can also request deletion of particular data without requesting closure of the entire account. We may need enough information to verify that the request is yours. We normally respond and, once ownership is verified, delete account-linked data from systems we control and initiate provider deletion within 30 days of receiving your request, or sooner where required by law. We explain any verification delay, legally permitted extension, or necessary retention exception in our response. Provider processing periods described above apply separately.

Security and international processing

Google documents encryption in transit and other security safeguards for Firebase services. You can review those safeguards in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Contact us if you believe information associated with Joy Clean has been accessed without authorization.

Google, Firebase, Cloudflare, advertising, and email services can process information in countries other than the one where you live. Their privacy and data-processing terms describe their international processing arrangements and safeguards. Contact us for questions about the processing that applies to your information.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of targeted advertising or legally defined sale or sharing.

Where relevant, we process information to provide the service you request, pursue legitimate interests such as service reliability and fraud prevention, meet legal obligations, or act on consent. Where consent is the basis, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Contact us to exercise a right, ask about the applicable legal basis, or raise a concern. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. We may verify your identity and explain any legal reason a request cannot be fully met. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Children’s privacy

Joy Clean is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 or under a higher minimum age where local law requires it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

This website and external links

This website does not embed advertising, Firebase Analytics, or a Google sign-in form. Reading these pages does not sign you into the app. The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes the request information needed to deliver and protect it.

Email links open your email application. A deletion email is not sent until you send it yourself. External sites, including Google services, have their own privacy policies and controls.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect changes to Joy Clean, its services, or applicable requirements. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change takes effect.
